Dedicated to Jazz Day Awareness in Arizona

International Jazz Day, celebrated globally on April 30th under the leadership of UNESCO and Herbie Hancock, highlights jazz as a force for peace, unity, dialogue, and cooperation. By Introducing and passing the Bill HB2513, Arizona would formally join the global community in honoring this rich musical tradition and its deep ties to Arizona’s own cultural heritage.

“This bill is more than symbolic — it’s a commitment to the arts, to education, and to unity,” said Dr. William “Doc” Jones, founder of the International Jazz Day AZ Foundation.

“Arizona has a vibrant jazz legacy, and it’s time we honor it every April 30th, side by side with the rest of the world.”

The petition drive will engage schools, community organizations, arts advocates, and citizens from all walks of life. Volunteers and supporters will be collecting signatures in person and online, with major outreach planned at the Scottsdale Jazz Festival and other cultural events.
